Ben's NC Outhouse

This outhouse was built by Ben soon after he and Emma purchased a new farm near Lansing, NC in 1945.  It was used along with the 1952 "indoor plumbing" by four generations and hundreds of friends and relatives.  The "new moon" was painted on the door by son, Ken, about 1970 and the picture was taken about 1985.

Sadly, the often used outhouse was torn down in 1999 by son Ancel.  The door of this great outhouse was sold for $20.00 at an estate sale in the fall of 2001.
