Ben's NC Outhouse

This outhouse was built by Ben soon after he and Emma purchased the new farm in 1945 near Lansing, NC and was used along with the 1952 "indoor plumbing" by four generations and hundreds of friends and relatives.  The "new moon" was painted on the door by son, Ken, about 1970 and the picture was taken about 1985.

The often used outhouse was sadly torn down by son, Ancel, in 1999 as witnessed by the "tears" shed by two relatives.  The door of this great outhouse was sold for $20.00 during an estate sale in the fall of 2001.
